The Tangaroa Shrimp Goby or Tangaroa Goby (Ctenogobiops Tangaroai) is a species of Goby Fish native to the reefs of the Pacific Ocean where it can be found in fine-grained sand patches. They have a nearly translucent body with orange spots and short white lines on the upper body. They can reach a length of 2.4″ inches total length.
Tangaroa Shrimp Gobies or Tangaroa Gobies require an aquarium with plenty of live rock for hiding and a deep sand bed. This species is commensal with Alpheid Shrimps, with a fish and shrimp sharing a burrow. They are peaceful fish and should not be kept with aggressive fish. They are reef safe and will not bother corals, fish, but will eat tiny invertebrates.
The Tangaroa Shrimp Goby or Tangaroa Goby is carnivores and requires a diet rich in meaty foods, such as mysis and brine shrimp and other types of fresh or frozen chopped seafood.
