Description

Freshwater Angelfish (Pterophyllum Scalare), is native to the Amazon Basin in Peru, Colombia, and Brazil. It is found in swamps or flooded grounds where vegetation is dense and the water is either clear or silty.

The diet of Freshwater Angelfish consists of prawns and worms for juveniles, and different types of worms such as Tubifex worms, vermicompost worms, and bloodworms. Tubifex is high in protein and nutrients for the Freshwater Angelfish resulting in significant growth, while a live food diet will provide better reproductive performance.
