Description

The Blood Red Hawkfish, also known as the Banded Hawkfish or Redbar Hawkfish, has a bright red body with bluish-white freckles on the face and light vertical stripes along the body.

A 30 gallon or larger aquarium is required to house the Banded Hawkfish or Redbar Hawkfish. It is a hardy fish and any tank mates should be larger than itself and at least semi-aggressive. It will eat small fish and crustaceans. The Banded Hawkfish or Blood Red Hawkfish diet should include a variety of marine meats, frozen preparations, and live feeder shrimp.
