Description

The Hawaiian Flame Wrasse Fish also known as Flame Wrasse, Flame Fairy Wrasse, and Jordan’s Fairy Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus Jordani), is a species of wrasse endemic to the Hawaiian Islands where it is found in groups on coral reefs at depths from 16 to 610 ft.

This species can reach a total length of 3.9 inches. One-third of the males upper body and back is red, the rest of their body is yellow, while the females body is entirely pinkish red. A very attractive fish, the females are a vivid scarlet to deep pink with some yellow on the snout and belly, males have a yellow head, belly and flanks, and their back and caudal fin are pinkish red.

A 90 gallon or larger aquarium, either fish-only or reef, with a shaded area is recommended. The Hawaiian Flame Wrasse Fish or Flame Fairy Wrasse Fish will not bother corals or invertebrates, which makes them the ideal fish for a reef aquarium. These fish do like to jump, so a tight fitting canopy is required.
