Midnight Angelfish or Black Nox Angelfish

The Midnight Angelfish, also known as Black Pygmy Angelfish, or Black Nox Angelfish (Centropyge Nox), is a dwarf species of marine Angelfish. The Midnight Angelfish or Black Nox Angelfish is black over its entire body, and it can reach a maximum size of 4.7″ inches in length. It’s widespread throughout the tropical waters of the Western Pacific: Ryukyu Islands to Indonesia, the Solomon Islands, the Great Barrier Reef and New Caledonia.

The Midnight Angelfish or Black Nox Angelfish requires at least a 70 gallon tank with lots of hiding places. It should be the only dwarf angelfish in the tank. It is not a good reef dweller and may eat soft coral polyps, clam mantles, and zoanthids. The diet of the Midnight Angelfish or Black Nox Angelfish should include Spirulina, marine algae, mysis shrimp along with other meaty fare, and live rock for grazing.
